Since 2017, students of landscape architecture and environmental planning have been supporting the garden therapy work of the "Grüne Stunde e.V." association with a one-day work assignment per year. The therapy garden was created in 2014 by redesigning a farmhouse garden in Wedemark-Mellendorf. The focus of the work is the garden-therapeutic care of people with dementia. The perennial gardener and garden therapist Corinna Cieslik-Bischof is both the motor and the heart of the facility. She passes on her knowledge to the students with enthusiasm for the cause. Currently, three students are working on garden therapy topics in their final theses. They are supervised by Dr Roswitha Kirsch-Stracke, who also initiated and organises the excursions to the therapy garden in Mellendorf.
