Exploring Climate Change Impacts on Mental Well-being: new project WellAdapt examines consequences on climate adaptation decisions in agriculture
On 20 February, 18 students went to the pond and fen area "Viehmoor" near Leiferde in the district of Gifhorn. Together with Dr Roswitha Kirsch-Stracke, René Hertwig from NaBu Gifhorn and the working group "Viehmoor" (Arbeitsgruppe "Viehmoor"), black alder trees were cut back and the banks of the silted-up former fish ponds were cleared of willow bushes. In the afternoon, the programme included a visit to the UNSA farm (UNSA-Hof) in the old centre of Leiferde, a successful example of the conversion of agricultural farm buildings and the revitalisation of old town centres.
