Landschaftsplanung (Landscape planning)

Eighteen years ago, Prof. Dr. Christina von Haaren published the textbook and workbook "Landscape Planning". In addition to the editor, the authors were mainly staff members of the Institute for Landscape Management and Nature Conservation at Leibniz Universität Hannover.
Landscape planning in Germany has developed further since then; new goals, tasks and methods, such as climate protection and renewable energies, have been added to the classic ones, and internationalisation has progressed.
Together with Prof. Dr. Christian Albert and Dr. Carolin Galler, Christina von Haaren has now published the second edition of the textbook Landscape Planning. Once again, current and former members of the Institute for Environmental Planning, as the institute is now called, have written the work. Supported by colleagues from other universities and institutions, the book has now been expanded to 608 pages.
The textbook and workbook for students and practitioners offers a basic theoretical classification of landscape planning. Basic methods for recording and evaluating landscape functions are presented and ways of deriving spatially concrete goals and measures are shown.
