Year:  2027
Funding:  Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt
Duration:  01.04.2024 – 31.03.2027

The BioWoQ research project aims to promote biodiversity in residential neighbourhoods through behavioural strategies and to meet the challenges of the global biodiversity crisis. Funded by the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU), BioWoQ is being implemented in collaboration with hanova Wohnen GmbH and KSG Hannover GmbH. The project is supported by the City of Hanover, Department of Environment and Urban Greening and the Hanover Insect Alliance.

Lead by Prof. Dr. Ann-Kathrin Koessler, the project focuses on analysing incentives and barriers for biodiversity-promoting measures on land owned by housing companies. These areas offer potential for synergies between people and nature and could be enhanced through targeted behaviour change and participatory planning.
